Problem with "Submit content in this section" 3 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello

I was surprised to find option to submit content for regular users added to version 3.0.2. But still I can't add articles, i get "You are not authorised to view this resource". What else i have to do to solve this problem? I don't like Ja Submit or older version, i would like to use AlphaCOntent for all my content, including submit, but as a regular user. It is possible?

Thank you

The submit link for user is the same of native Joomla. If only for registered user.

Hi

What kind of registered users? I register a new account and still can't add new article. Should this user be Author or Editor or Publisher? I need to allow a "normal" registered user (not Author, Editor etc) to add articles. It is possible? If yes, how?

Thanks

Note: I'm using Joomla 1.0.15, as I'm not yet ready to migrate to 1.5, so please keep that in mind.

I had the exact same problem, but with another content submission management and submission tool. I was advised that Joomla makes a distinction between "Author" and "Member." These are both separate groups. Within Joomla (unless you have an extension or hack to do otherwise), you will have to make your regular members into Authors to allow them to do what you want.

So, I'm passing on to you what I was told to do - that is, to make your regular members into authors (that is, if you truly want all your members to be able to submit content). Joomla will then grant them the ability to submit content.

Another option - if you use Community Builder, there is a plugin to automatically register new members as "Author" instead of just member. There is also a simple hack to Joomla's core registration that will allow you to do this.

In any case, making your regular members into authors should fix this for you.
