In joomla 1.x

To create a module:

1. Go to Joomla Main Menu >Modules>Site Modules

2. Choose New from Module Menu (top right on page), a new Site Module screen will appear

3. Name your new module

4. Choose the Position - this is the name of the Position (in your template) that you want to place the module in (look for the name of the Position directly above where your alphaContent displays)(to find your Position names and locations do this: in Joomla Main Menu go to Site>Preview>Inline with Positions)

5. Complete the rest of the configuration options. If you don't know what they do, just leave the defaults

6. Enter the information that you want to display above your alphaContent into the Custom Output field (down at the bottom of the page)

7. In the Pages / Items dialogue, choose the pages / items that you want the module to appear on

Remember to Save and Publish the module.. and that should do it.
